Houston's Water Festival (5-2006)

More than 1000 students crowded the Downtown Aquarium grounds for the 13th Annual City of Houston Water Festival.

City of Houston’s Public Works & Engineering Department sponsored the event. Dannelle H. Belhateche, P.E., PW&E Senior Assistant Director, Water Production, and Wes Johnson, PW&E Public Information Office, are joined on stage by Deputy Drop and the Clean Water Clear Choice characters Clara the Catfish and Eddy the Egret.

Michael S. Marcotte, Houston’s Public Works Director, enthusiastically
applauds Deputy Drop.

The Authority’s characters, Alex the Alligator and Bub the frog, joined the students and representatives from Disney Radio and danced to the “YMCA.”

Educators from the Cy-Fair ISD visited the Festival and toured the Mobile Teaching Lab. The Lab has been reserved for Cy-Fair ISD classrooms in the fall.

Alex and Bub clowned around with the Aquarium staff members who presented an exciting show for the students, featuring live birds and amphibians.
